Oat and almond no-cook breakfast with dried or fresh fruit

Imagine enjoying a breakfast which takes minutes to prepare and each member of the family can have it personalised to their particular taste and there is no cooking involved! 

A really easy, gluten free and dairy free breakfast alternative which has become one of my favourites. 

It’s not just any breakfast cereal- a healthier version with oats and almonds, seeds and dried or fresh fruit which ever you prefer with water and orange added. If you feel it needs sweetening you could add honey or agave nectar (a natural sweetener made from the Blue Webber Agave plant from Mexico). I find there is no need to add any honey or sweetener as the orange juice and fruit adds sufficient sweetness.

½ cup or 40 grams of rolled dry oats

Few drops of lemon juice

Enough water to just cover the oats

2/3 tbsp of orange juice

6/ 8 whole almonds with/ or without skin

Dried or fresh fruit of your choice

2 to 3 tbsp of any or all of the following- pumpkin and sun flower seeds, chia seeds, ground linseed, hemp, rapeseed

The oats are put into a bowl and just barely covered with water. Lemon juice drops added to this. This can be left to soak overnight but if you prefer a more textured consistency add the water 10 minutes before eating. Almonds and fruit then added to this along with orange juice. Sprinkle with seeds as desired. A quick, easy and healthy breakfast which has great texture and flavours determined by the fruit you add.
